Abstract

The paper presents functioning models in continuous time of optical elements of a passive optical access network. Several options are being considered: without reservation, with reservation 1:1 and with reservation 1+1. Covert failures are considered to be the reason for the malfunction of the elements. The models take into account technical condition checks of the main and backup elements and the recovery of working capacity after a failure detection. Based on the limiting probabilities of the states, the stationary availability factor and the technical utilization factor were calculated taking into account control errors of I and II type.

Abstract

The main approach is based on numerical simulation of the process, by which a substantial part of the data used in the model is taken directly from full-scale real-time experiments. This ap¬proach can be applied in various fields of science and technology. This article describes the methodology for traffic calculation in local computer networks based on experiments and nu¬merical simulation using as an example the Internet traffic originated from a single Internet ser¬vice, namely, an e-mail agent.

Abstract

Research results of the optical fiber strain and optical cables being under the influence of mechanical forces in various manufacturing processes, using Brillouin optical time-domain pulse reflectometers are presented in this work.

The research results confirmed the advantage of the Brillouin reflectometry method for early diagnostics and detection of local mechanically stressed places of optical fibers. To determine the total elongation of optical fibers, the phase shift measurement method is effectively used.

Abstract

The issue of quantitative assessment of employees’ competence level is considered. It is the first step of personal development. The indicators of competencies are the personal and professional qualities of employees. Modified methods for assessing personal qualities and competences, new technique for assessing labor efficiency indicators have been developed. The research deals with the telecommunication industry.

Abstract

An analytic model of an item functioning is represented under two types of periodic checking conditions: check-out operations with regular period and with random period distributed exponentially. The state-transition diagram is given for the periodic checking conditions. The model is based on the theory of semimarkov processes using matrix methods for mathematical operations. Consideration of the model reveals the influence of the checking conditions on the reliability level.

Abstract

The paper considers the features of the simplified implementation of the protocol stack, the efficiency of routing and performance in the transit mode of data transfer devices, with the longest battery life priority. The solution to the problem of network devices in a network with a large number of sensors (for example, network of the Internet of things) is relevant and can be solved by creation of cellular network like mesh. But in such networks, there can be a situation when because of failure of one or several devices the operability of all network is broken. In this connection, it is offered to use for connections and data transmission the self-organized network on the basis of the channel Wi-Fi level and the PainlessMesh protocol. The four-dimensional model of Markov is developed for the research of application possibility of the proposed solution and analytical expressions for parameters assessment of network operation are obtained. Based on the resulting models the computing algorithm allowing to imitate scenarios of network operation is constructed. The models’ adequacy is confirmed by scenario emulation of the sensors cluster operation. The main results of the paper are: in the scientific aspect – the developed models of network operation assessment parameters of IoT; in the practical aspect – received by means of simulation, dependences delay schedules including network nodes on the number of nodes and "awakening" nodes’ speed. Besides, it is revealed that multiprotocol devices can work more effectively, at the same time supporting the necessary productivity of a data transmission network.

Abstract

The article describes the approach of the European educational project ERASMUS + REBUS in which the course «Digital Entrepreneurship» is developed and taught at SibSUTIS. According to the opinion of the authors student training in the learning environment Mahara with the use of such tools as Moodle and LEVEL5 intensifies the cognitive activity, facilitates the acquisition of knowledge as well as allows students to self-monitor their learning progress and assess their level of competence development. The authors of the article consider that the approach of the European educational project ERASMUS + REBUS enables students to effectively form new competences. Nevertheless, the authors note the weaknesses of this approach, in particular, a disparity between students’ self-assessment and a real level of competence development.

Abstract

Influence of geometrical parameters of the receiving antenna of a direction finder on the accuracy of determination of angular and linear coordinates of the positioned objects is considered. Estimates of the maximum errors of positioning in relation to two variants of geometry of the antenna of a direction finder are received.
